Steve Ehlmann has spent much of his life in service to the citizens of St. Charles County, helping guide the dramatic growth of the county over the past three decades.

Steve was elected St. Charles County Executive in November 2006. In this role, he has focused on keeping our neighborhoods safe, modernizing our roads and infrastructure, growing our great park system, and creating good-paying jobs—all while keeping taxes low.

Prior to becoming County Executive, Steve served St. Charles County as a State Representative, a State Senator, a Circuit Judge, and as the county’s Director of Administration.

Steve earned a Bachelor’s degree from Furman University, a Master’s degree from University of Missouri-Columbia, and a law degree from Washington University in St. Louis. He has also served the community as a teacher and coach in the public schools.

Throughout his career, Steve has been honored with the Missour Right to Life’s Defender of Life Award, the Missouri Press Association’s Missouri Sunshine Award, and Associated Industries of Missouri’s Voice of Missouri Business Award, among others.

Steve is married to his wife, Jean, and they have two sons, Brendan and William.
